Driver CPC Training & Test – Module  4

To work as a Professional Driver you must complete Driver CPC and carry your Driver Qualification Card (DQC).

For first time holders of a DQC or for newly qualified drivers this is called INITIAL DRIVER CPC and is taken in two parts: Case Study Theory Test (Module 2) and Practical Demonstration Test (Module 4)

After passing both CPC rests you’ll receive your Driver Qualification Card (DQC) to present to an employer ready for work as a vocational driver.

So if its been a while since you passed your HGV/LGV driving test, or you passed your test elsewhere, maybe abroad, we can help you complete your Driver CPC and get your DQC – Driver Qualification Card.

What is involved in driver CPC training?

Driver CPC training, or the Certificate of Professional Competence for Drivers, is required by anyone who drives a lorry for work. Bus and coach drivers also need this certificate. Retro Driving School can train you up for the CPC examination and make sure you are well equipped to pass. After successfully completing the exam, you’ll be awarded your Driver Qualification Card (D&Q).

Did you collect your HGV/LGV driving test outside of the UK? If you now need a Driver Qualification Card, the Retro Driving School can help. Through us, you can complete your Driver CPC and you will be awarded your DQC in the process.

Types of CPC training

We offer a range of options for CPC training, depending on your own level of experience and the status of your current licence. For new drivers, the Initial Driver CPC Modules 2 & 4 are required. These are in addition to the Modules 1 & 3 (theory and practical) which are required to obtain the HGV licence itself.

Existing licence holders who need to refresh or update their CPC status can take up to 35 hours in periodic training, on a schedule that suits the individual. Retro Driving School can also visit your site to train drivers at their place of work, using your own vehicles.
